About Me

My name is Tommy Brents. I’m a Liberty City Councilman, small business owner, husband, and father who cares deeply about the future of our community.

I was first elected to the Liberty City Council in 2022 and was honored to be re-elected in 2024. Serving on the council has given me a deeper appreciation for both the opportunities and the responsibilities that come with local leadership.

I believe city government works best when it is transparent, accountable, and focused on serving the people who live here.

My Commitment to Liberty

Liberty is a special place. It’s a community built on strong families, strong values, and neighbors who care about one another.

Whitney and I are raising our family here, and like many parents in Liberty, we want our children to grow up in a town that is safe, welcoming, and full of opportunity.

That perspective shapes how I approach public service. The decisions we make today help shape the future of the community our children will inherit.

Serving on the City Council

Serving on the City Council has strengthened my belief that residents deserve clear communication and transparency from their local government.

During my time on council, I have supported efforts that make city government more accessible and easier for residents to follow. People should be able to see how decisions are made and understand how their tax dollars are being used.

Public office is a position of trust, and I take that responsibility seriously.

My Small Business Background

In addition to serving on the City Council, I own and operate a local IT services and consulting company.

Operating a technology services business has shown me how important responsiveness is. When the systems businesses depend on fail, productivity stops and the effects ripple outward to employees and customers. In that environment, problems must be addressed quickly and practical solutions matter more than anything else.

That experience has shaped the way I approach leadership. I believe city government should reflect the same responsiveness and commitment to solving problems efficiently. Taxpayers deserve leaders who respect their money and focus on getting things done responsibly.

Looking Forward

It is a privilege to serve the residents of Liberty. I remain committed to working with fellow council members, city staff, and the community to help ensure Liberty remains a place where families can thrive and businesses can succeed.
