A Vision for Liberty
I’ve published a full document explaining the principles that guide every decision I make as your councilman, and the approach I will bring as mayor.
If you want a clear picture of how I think about governing, you can read the full document here.
The Governing Principles That Guide My Leadership
Transparency
City government should operate openly so residents can clearly see how decisions are made and how their tax dollars are used.
Accountability
Public officials and city operations must be held to high standards. Leadership means taking responsibility and delivering results.
Respect for Taxpayers
The people who fund city government deserve careful stewardship of every dollar and thoughtful, responsible decision making.
Focus on Core Services
City government should prioritize the essential services residents rely on every day: infrastructure, public safety, and reliable utilities.
A Welcoming Community
Liberty should be a place where families, businesses, and visitors feel welcomed and proud to call our community home.
From Principles to Action
These principles are not just ideas. They guide the decisions I make while serving on the Liberty City Council.
Serving Liberty with Results
Transparency and Public Access
I have worked to make city government more accessible by communicating regularly with residents, helping set a higher standard for how public officials interact with the community online. I also supported livestreaming City Council meetings so residents can follow along even if they cannot attend in person.
Government works best when citizens can easily see, understand, and stay informed about what their city is doing.
Stronger Financial Stewardship
I believe taxpayers should be treated like shareholders in their city government. Every dollar deserves careful oversight and thoughtful decision making.
That principle has guided my service on City Council, including being willing to vote against proposals when I believe they are not responsible uses of taxpayer dollars. Leadership means protecting the public’s money with the same care families use when managing their own household budgets.
Supporting Professional City Management
Hiring our new City Manager was one of the most important decisions made during my time on Council. Strong leadership at City Hall is already improving city operations and financial performance.
Good governance starts with hiring capable people, giving them the tools to succeed, and building a culture that develops future leaders from within our own city staff.
Priorities for Liberty’s Future
Responsible Financial Management
As mayor, I will work to ensure city government lives within its means and treats taxpayer dollars with respect. Residents and businesses alike invest their hard-earned money into our community through their taxes, and that trust deserves careful stewardship.
City government should improve the quality of life for the people and businesses that call Liberty home, not become a burden that taxes them out of their homes or businesses.
Reliable Infrastructure
As mayor, I will prioritize the core services residents rely on every day. Liberty has excellent city staff working hard to maintain our systems, and city leadership must continue supporting them with thoughtful planning and consistent investment in streets, utilities, and drainage.
Amenities can enrich a community, but city government must first deliver excellence in the essential services taxpayers depend on.
Public Safety
As mayor, I will continue supporting our devoted police, fire, and emergency services personnel who serve our community every day. Ensuring they all have the training, equipment, and resources they need helps keep Liberty a safe place for families to live, work, and raise their children.
I support innovative public safety tools that strengthen community safety while maintaining the privacy and transparency our residents expect.
A Strong Local Economy
Liberty should be a community where businesses can succeed and families can build a future. While our location near major urban areas offers many conveniences, our goal should not be to become one of those bustling, disconnected cities.
As mayor, I will support responsible growth that strengthens our tax base while preserving the small-town character and traditions that make Liberty home.
